Dino Youth T&F Fall session classes will be postponed indefinitely. Our plan is that we will be able to continue the program in January when facilities become available.

What is Dino Youth?
Dino Youth is a track and field program offered by the University of Calgary Athletics Club (UCAC) for participants aged 7-15 years. The goal of Dino Youth to provide an enjoyable activity setting where participants have the opportunity to develop:
Basic technical models for the main events of Track and Field.
Physical Fitness qualities and general health.
New friends.
Life skills (Self discipline, respect for authority, competitiveness, cooperativeness, sportsmanship, and self confidence)
Dino Youth Programs
Introduction to Track and Field – Elementary and Junior High
With the emphasis being on fun and fundamentals, this Track and Field Program introduces basic athletic skills of running, jumping and throwing. Participants will be exposed to a variety of experiences that will enhance their athleticism and provide a solid basic development for future specialization. There will be some competition opportunities offered as part of the program.
We offer the Introduction to Track and Field program both to Elementary and Junior High school children:
Our Elementary program is for children aged 7-11 years.
Our Junior High program is for children aged 11-14 years
General Time Offerings
Elementary: Saturdays 11am-12pm or 12pm-1pm
Junior High: Saturdays 9:15am-10:45am
Intermediate Track and Field
This program is organized as an extension of the Junior High Introduction to Track and Field Program and competition opportunities will be encouraged. The emphasis will continue to be on fun and fundamentals.
The Track and Field Program will reinforce basic athletic skills of running, jumping and throwing. Basic technical models will be refined to enhance success in track and field competition. Programs are specifically developed around junior-high-aged children, with a hope for continued participation in the sport of Track and Field.
Our Intermediate Track and Field program is offered to children aged 12-15 years
General Time Offerings
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6:30pm-8pm
- With the warmer weather if Spring/Summer, we will have the opportunity to conduct sessions at Foothills Track.
- We will provide advance notice when we plan to train at Foothills.
- If the weather changes and makes training outside, hazardous, we will notify participants 2 hours prior to the session with an email and a posting here
